Nuestras Voces
National Bilingual Sexual Assault Conference
Since 2005, the Nuestras Voces National Bilingual Sexual Assault Conference has been guided and supported by members of the Alianza Latina en contra la Agresión Sexual, ALAS (the national Latine alliance against sexual violence) established in 2004. In 2008, Nuestras Voces was the first national Sexual Assault or Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) conference to offer a complete workshop track en español.
Latine advocates and allies from across the nation, Mexico, and the Caribbean have helped define this unique and empowering training experience by sharing their expertise as presenters, and by supporting the conference planning process as volunteers. Nuestras Voces conferences have also counted on partnerships and support from many local agencies, as well as state coalitions, and national groups such as the following:
California Coalition Against Sexual Assault (2008)
Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault (2016, 2017, 2019)
Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence (2016)
End DomesticAbuse Wisconsin (2019)

Arte Sana had initially planned and scheduled what was to be its 10th Nuestras Voces conference in collaboration with the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence in May 2020. However, due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19 and its subsequent variants, with the well-being of victim advocate attendees, conference partners, and presenters as the number one priority, we created the Nuestras Voces bilingual online sessions in 2021.
Founded in 2001, Arte Sana (art heals) is a national Latina-led nonprofit committed to reciprocal restoration and healing, by engaging underrepresented groups as community advocates and agents of change in conservation and environmental justice efforts. Arte Sana promotes awareness and healing through nature, bilingual community education, and the arts.
Created in 2004, the Alianza Latina en contra la Agresión Sexual (ALAS) was a national Latine-led membership network of victim advocates working to address and prevent sexual violence. Through collaborative efforts and cyber activism, ALAS promotes the leadership of Latina victim advocates and develops models, resources and policies to empower communities and eliminate access barriers for survivors. ALAS honors the diversity of the Latin@ culture by respecting the similarities and differences of our languages and histories.
